Jesus has told us that we always demonstrate our consciousness. We always demonstrate what we habitually have in our mind. What sort of mind have you? Do not let anyone else tell you, because they do not know. People who like you will think your mentality is better than it is; those who do not like you will think is worse. Just examine your conditions and see what you are demonstrating. This method is scientific and infallible.
If an automobile engineer is working out a new design for an engine, for instance, he doesn’t’t, say: “I wonder what Smith thinks about this. I like Smith. If Smith is against this I won’t try it.” Nor does he say, “I won’t try this idea because it comes from France.” He is impersonal and unemotional about it. He says, “ I will test it out, and decide by the results I obtain.” All that anyone can do for you is to help you change your thought. You yourself must keep it changed. No one else can think for you. “No man can save his brother’s soul or pay his brother’s debt.”
…and I will put a new spirit within you… (Ezekiel 11:19).
Our actions are the greatest testament to our thoughts. Words can reflect what we think or they can just be what we want to believe about our thoughts. It is in our actions that the truth about our consciousness resides. If our actions demonstrate judgement, condemnation and disdain, then our thoughts are the same.
When we show compassion, forgiveness, tolerance and understanding, we are demonstrating those characteristics within ourselves. It is the same with prayer. When we pray with words instead of feelings, we are but speaking and our prayers are but words. If our hearts are filled with emotion and conviction as we pray, then our prayers are true communion with God and have great power.
So, during this season of joy and preparation, let our words calling for joy and peace be matched with feelings and actions that put our thoughts and words to work. Then, let every day of the year be filled with that same love put into action in the physical world.
If we do this every day, we can live in the garden God gave us, and we can share that garden with all those we touch. We may even be able to show others the path to their gardens.
Christ Jesus, for whose birth we prepare and celebrate, give us the hearts, minds, words, and actions to bring us into that garden and to share it with others. And, give us we pray, the will, the work and the way to unlock the gardens of those we encounter. Amen.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in safety, peace and service.

Finding the center.
Everything that has happened to us up until each moment in time has happened for some reason. Every situation, every relationship that surrounds us has been put there by God. We oftentimes can become troubled as we go back and forth to the various problems in our lives trying to solve them. One problem is solved and another surfaces, and it is easy to lose sight of the big picture. All things are part of one huge circle of connections and all the parts of our lives have a connection to each other.
The way to achieve balance in our direction is to take time to consider all of the various situations surrounding us and see how those situations might be improved
by recognizing they are connected. All of the challenges we face are part of God’s plan for our learning. Everyone is at the center of their own lives, and every imbalance is an opportunity to once again find the center. Finding our center, we
are more in tune with the “still, small voice” inside, of intuition. God is always there for us.
John,
Thank you for adding the “small, still voice” to today’s meditation. The power of that small voice can change to whole world for the better every day of the year. Peace to you and yours this day and every day.
