We do not have to create good. We do not have to persuade God to be Love, or Life, or Truth, or Intelligence. We do not have to ask Him to remember us. We could not ask for any good. Fundamentally, evil is a false belief about the power and availability of good.
If we draw down the shades in every room in a house, that house will be in darkness, and is likely to become damp and unhealthy as well, no matter how brightly the sun may be shining outside. Salvation consists in raising these shades and opening the windows—then He does the rest.
…walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8).
It seems it would be so easy to just raise the shades and let God’s light fill our lives. But, the truth is that it is very hard. You see, the physical world teaches us a false reality that effectively blinds us to the truth. This world whispers in our ear that reality is what we see, taste, touch and smell. In fact, reality is spiritual in nature and unlimited by the physical plane.
This is a difficult truth to live by in the physical world and as long as we are flesh and blood, it will be so. The good news is that we can access this truth and live in a physical world in grace, joy and gladness. But we must act and raise the shades. Even in a pitch black room, we can find the cord that raises the shades if we trust God and keep feeling our way through. Then, when the light streams in, we will find that we have been in our Eden all along.
Keep feeling,

Aloha Z;
Having read your December blog and some of the others, I am
very impressed at the great amount of work you have given to
the “z gardener” endeavor. God bless you for these gifts. Let
us “raise the shades” and “shine a light” onto some issues.
Please let me share with
you a couple of ideas we’ve not discussed.
Though I may be far from it, I am committed to achieving a
life of non-violence. We must all, however, realize that no
one truly and wholly can achieve this until the entire world
is at peace. We are all entertwined in one human fabric, the
one common-atmospheric-breathing-one human race.
I invite you and any you would be inclined to share this idea
with to join me in the renunciation of the idea of “enemy”,
the renunciation of all enemies in this life and even the
word enemy, to help us individually and worldwide find peace.
One may ask, “Well, how can we say we have no enemies
when we know there may be people who are intent on doing
us harm, such as the terrorists in this world?”
My answer is that though we need not lead undefended lives, we may also need never count anyone out as a possible
transformational soul. Therefore, all the people in the world may be put into the stages of peace in our renunciation of enemies. All the people in the world we may see as: “People with whom I have made peace”, or “people with whom I am making peace”, or “people with whom I seek peace”.
Peace be unto you Z, and to all those joined with us on this
path, and to all yet to find this path.
Love,
John
Thank you for the kind words and insightful comments. They are a blessing to the author, to me and to all who read them.
I totally agree with what you said. Also, it strikes me that your written wisdom perfectly dovetails with the Good Morning Garden philosophy of being at peace within and with those we love before we can find peace without. It is an article of faith with this author that our personal peace can fully radiate out into the world once we have closed the open circles in our lives with ourselves, family and friends.
As R. Buckminster Fuller said, a sphere is nature’s most stable creation with true structural integrity. Yet, just a bubble disintegrates when the circle is open, so our lives and indeed nature itself, wants our circles closed and complete.
We may not need to be in a certain place to do that, but our absence causes those who love us to miss us and they are denied our presence as well. In our decisions to follow integrity and become comprehensive world beings, let us not leave unfinished the most important part of the whole universe, those closest to us. Our absence there will leave an open circle that longs to be complete.
If we are to be “world problem-solvers”, let us start by resolving the issues in our personal universes first. Then, the love and peace within us will shine so brightly that the world will notice and yield to its power, that which flows from the creator of the universe through us. Then we can live in the Eden God created for us. Not in perfection, but in peace.
Your brother,
Z
