How Much Conviction?
What do you really believe? It is as a man thinketh in his heart that matters, says the Bible, and this means the heartfelt conviction as distinct from mere formal assent.
If you want to know what you really believe, simply watch what you do. We always do what we believe, although we frequently talk differently. If you feel that you are not making the most of your life, change your beliefs. Your present beliefs must be wrong if they are not producing harmony and satisfaction.
Start believing in health; start believing in prosperity; start believing in the Christ in those about you; start believing that your own divine Selfhood is rapidly unfolding. Act as though you believed these things and the results will surprise you.
For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul…Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as was told me (Acts 27: 23-25)
Just as our bodies are what we eat, our spirits and our minds are what we think and believe. For those of of us who struggle with getting to the belief part, try this. Apply the biblical rules for one week (or at least the ten commandments). Call on God in prayer each day, submit to God’s will and the principles in the bible and live in a spirit of love, joy and peace. Rebuke all negative thoughts and feeling, forgive those who hurt, refuse to judge or condemn and look for the good in all things (especially the bad ones). Exude love, dispense joy and create peace. When the week has ended, take stock of how much better or worse it was than the week before. The point here to show ourselves that following God’s will works in our “real world”. Once we are convinced of this, we are on the road to belief. Once we believe, then we must do. When we fully adopt this belief system the basis of our lives, will find ourselves in the Eden God created for us. We are the only obstacle to life in the Garden.
In belief,
